Mykolaiv athletes, together with the Ukrainian national team, won gold in the mixed team jumping at the European Championships in Antalya. This is the second consecutive victory for Ukraine in this discipline.

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Diving Federation.

The Ukrainian national team won the first award at the European Diving Championships, which started on May 22 in Antalya, Turkey. On the first day of the competition, the Ukrainian team triumphed in the mixed team diving discipline, taking first place.

The team consisted of Ksenia Bailo, Kirill Bolyukh, Sofia Lyskun and Alexey Sereda. The athletes demonstrated their skills in the 3-meter springboard and 10-meter tower jumps, performing both single and synchronized jumps. As a result, the Ukrainians scored 407.20 points, putting them ahead of strong teams from Germany and Italy.

This is Ukraine's second consecutive gold medal in the mixed team event at the European Championships. In 2023, the Ukrainians won in Rzeszow, and in 2022 and 2024 they won silver in Rome and Belgrade, respectively. Thus, since 2022, our team has not missed a single podium in this discipline.

Ihor Lisov, President of the Ukrainian Diving and Synchronized Swimming Federations, congratulated the athletes and coaching staff on their brilliant start at the continental championship, calling this victory a demonstrative result of the hard work and high level of the Ukrainian diving school.

Two Mykolaiv residents are among the winners: Ksenia Bailo and Oleksii Sereda. Both have repeatedly represented Ukraine on the international stage and are considered one of the country's most promising athletes in their sport.

The press service noted that this victory was a good start for the Ukrainian team at the tournament, which will last until May 26. Individual and synchronized events are ahead, where Ukraine also has a chance for medals.

Ukraine's diving team also competed in five events at the World Cup Super Final in Beijing, and our athletes won medals in two of them. In synchronized diving from the 10-meter tower, 19-year-old Oleksiy Sereda from Mykolaiv, together with 15-year-old Mark Grytsenko, took third place.

The Ukrainians won silver in the team mix (jumps from 3 and 10 meters) - the team consisted of Oleksiy Sereda, Kirill Bolyukh, Sofia Lyskun, and Ksenia Bailo from Mykolaiv. In the individual competition, Oleksiy Sereda made it to the finals with one of the best results in his career, but took fourth place, falling short of the bronze medal.
