Mykolaiv Allocates ₴169K for Financial Support Programs

Mykolaiv will consider providing targeted financial assistance to community residents in need of social support. Over UAH 169 thousand has been allocated from the local budget for this purpose.

According to the decision of the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council, financial support is aimed at certain categories of citizens.

According to the approved budget, the total amount of funds allocated is UAH 169,059. Targeted scholarships will be given to residents who are 100 years old or older. UAH 43,697 is allocated for these payments.

Separately, the city council awarded Petro Antonovych Zadoian, a retired police officer, for his heroic actions in the detention of a particularly dangerous criminal. He will receive UAH 2,362 as a token of gratitude from the community.

Residents who find themselves in a difficult situation due to health problems will receive assistance for treatment. Citizens undergoing inpatient treatment will receive payments of up to one thousand hryvnias. Those undergoing long-term treatment can expect up to UAH 3 thousand. Patients who need surgery will receive up to UAH 6 thousand. People who are fighting cancer or need artificial implants will receive from 5 to 7 thousand hryvnias.

Several residents who find themselves in difficulties for various reasons will receive financial assistance of up to UAH 12 thousand.

The largest financial assistance of UAH 50 thousand was allocated for the treatment of Maxim Shulgin, who suffers from a rare genetic disease, Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The decision was made in coordination with the standing committees of the City Council.

The Department of Labor and Social Protection will transfer the funds to the recipients' personal accounts or pay them through post offices. The draft decision will be considered at the next meeting of the executive committee to be held on February 12.

UAH 13.2 million has been allocated from the local budget to finance the city program "Children of Mykolaiv" for 2025-2027. Within the 8 territorial communities of the district, 10,955 families received social assistance, and UAH 354 million was allocated to pay 17 types of targeted assistance.

In 2024, more than 150,000 residents of Mykolaiv received social support, including more than 40,000 IDPs. More than UAH 462 million has been allocated to finance the city's social protection program for 2025-2027. The program is aimed at protecting citizens, territory, environment and material assets from emergencies and dangerous events.
