On Friday, June 6, members of the Odesa Regional Council gathered for a regular plenary session to consider more than 20 issues.

In particular, they considered the replacement of deputy Mykola Derevyanko with Yaroslava Vitko-Prysyazhnyuk, who is the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language in the South of Ukraine. An Intent correspondent attended the session, and Intent also broadcast the meeting online.

The session was also not without scandal. Oleksandr Akhmerov , a deputy from the "Trust the Deeds" party, said that the "Trust the Deeds" faction could not take part in the plenary session, as they had seen the reports on the budget, development and recovery strategies only at 8:30 am today. In addition, he said, the program of socio-economic development does not take into account the needs of Odesa and Odesa residents. He proposed to postpone the session for three weeks. However, his colleagues did not support him.

Instead, they supported the " Strategy for the Restoration and Development of Odesa Region for the Period 2021-2027". Among other things, the strategy provides for the reopening of the airport in Izmail and the construction of a bridge in the village of Orlivka across the Danube to Romania. Half a billion hryvnias are needed to implement the project to restore the air port, which has been out of operation for 15 years. The construction of a bridge across the Danube River could cost UAH 12.6 billion. The money is planned to be raised in three stages.

However, the amendments to the regional council's decision "On Approval of the List of the Second Type of Jointly Owned Objects of Territorial Communities of Villages, Towns, and Cities of Odesa Oblast to be Leased Without an Auction" were not adopted as a basis the first time. They came back and voted again. In general, it was also supported.
