The Lyubashiv District Court found a deputy of the Lyubashiv Village Council of Podilskyi District, Odesa Region, guilty of declaring false information.

The court sentenced the deputy to a fine of UAH 68,000 with deprivation of the right to hold positions or engage in activities related to the performance of state or local government functions for a period of one year.

According to the Anti-Corruption Dimension publication, this is Serhiy Latsyk.

When filling out the annual declaration, the MP concealed the true value of real estate and concealed information about the co-owner of a 163.5-square-meter house in Liubashivka, as well as the value of his wife's house, purchased in 2018, which she bought in 2021.

The MP also concealed the value of his cars - a 2014 Hyundai Sonata and a 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 - and did not mention the old VAZ 21061 that he has owned since 2004.

Serhiy Latsyk also failed to declare income from the sale of property. In particular, he received 570 thousand hryvnias from the sale of a Toyota Land Cruiser 150 SUV and more than 20 thousand hryvnias for a garage, but these amounts were not included in the declaration. In addition, the MP overstated his salary, indicating several thousand hryvnias more than he actually received according to the tax authorities, and did not mention the interest from his PrivatBank account.

During the trial, the MP pleaded not guilty, claiming that he did not intend to conceal the data and that he did not have some documents in hand. The court rejected these arguments, as the materials contained copies of contracts signed by the accused himself, as well as his notarized consent to the purchase of real estate by his wife, which indicated the value of the objects.
