A deputy of one of the local councils of the Bashtanka district violated the requirements of anti-corruption legislation by failing to submit annual declarations on the website of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption for five years without good reason.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Despite being warned by an authorized person of the local government about the need to comply with anti-corruption legislation, as well as being notified by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption of the fact of failure to submit declarations, the deputy deliberately evaded submitting annual declarations for 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

On behalf of the Head of the Regional Prosecutor's Office, the Bashtanka District Prosecutor's Office notified him of suspicion of intentional failure to submit declarations of a person authorized to perform the functions of the state or local self-government provided for by the Law of Ukraine "On Prevention of Corruption".

The pre-trial investigation is currently underway.

Also, the former head of one of the production units of the Ukrainian Railways was notified of suspicion for paying a relative a salary. According to the investigation, the company lost more than half a million hryvnias due to fictitious employment.

In Mykolaiv, the head of a carriage depot also ran a scheme with fictitious employment of his son to protect him from mobilization, and at the same time embezzled funds through"dead souls." The court approved the plea agreement and sentenced him to a term of imprisonment.
