More than a million stolen during reconstruction of kindergarten in Kherson region by co-owner of construction company

He stole almost UAH 1.3 million allocated from the budget of the local village council. In 2018-2020, Kherson resident Serhii Khriachkov was a co-owner and co-founder of the Private Investment Construction Company LLC. During these years, the construction company was supposed to renovate a kindergarten in the village of Muzykivka, Kherson district, Kherson region.

This was reported by the Center for Investigative Journalism.

Now Khryachkov is working for the Russians. The National Police of Ukraine notified him in absentia of suspicion of misappropriation of property by abuse of office.

Investigators found that from December 2018 to December 2020, the man illegally seized money from the budget of the Muzykivska village community in Kherson region in the amount of almost UAH 1.3 million.

Khryachkov submitted overstated actual volumes of work performed and overstated volumes of materials used in the acts of work performed. The offender signed these documents for the customer, the technical supervision engineer and the director of the Private Investment Construction Company LLC.

Sergiy Khryachkov transferred the UAH 1.3 million to his individual entrepreneur's account and disposed of it at his own discretion.

The defendant faces 7 to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Nine people were served suspicion notices in criminal proceedings related to the misappropriation of budget funds. The amount of damage caused is UAH 36.2 million.

Eight former railroad employees who collaborated with the Russian military during the occupation will be tried in Kherson. The sentence is life imprisonment. Before the city was liberated by the Ukrainian armed forces, the suspects fled to the left bank of the Dnipro River. All the defendants in the case are charged with treason.
