A line of more than 650 vehicles has formed in front of the Kerch Bridge in Crimea, stretching from Taman and occupied Kerch. The traffic jams were caused by manual vehicle inspections and temporary road closures following a warning of potential drone attacks in Crimea.

This was reported by Krym.Realii.

It is reported that 400 vehicles are waiting in line from the Taman side. The wait time is about two hours. It is also noted that 250 vehicles are waiting in line from the Kerch side. The wait time is about one hour.

Prior to this, traffic across the Kerch Bridge was suspended for 40 minutes due to the announced drone threat.

Earlier, Russian authorities announced new rules for crossing the bridge over the Kerch Strait. Specifically, the occupying forces allowed the passage of passenger cars as well as freight vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of up to 1.5 metric tons. They also permitted the passage of Category “B” tow trucks that are transporting a single vehicle—without a trailer—on their own platform.

The rules for inspecting vehicles, luggage, and citizens remain in effect. Vehicles carrying luggage no larger than 60×70 cm are directed for a manual inspection. Vehicles with oversized cargo are sent to a stationary inspection and screening facility (X-ray).

The occupiers have also maintained the ban on the passage of electric vehicles and hybrids, all types of trucks weighing over 1.5 metric tons, all-metal vans with commercial cargo beds and cabins, as well as passenger vans converted for commercial transport.
