The Odesa region will receive more than 10.4 million hryvnias from the government to support preschool education institutions. More than 2 million will be allocated to preschools in Odesa.
According to Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, 20 preschool institutions in 11 local communities across the region will receive funding.
The funds will be used for teaching materials and modern equipment, furniture for shelters, computer hardware, and software.
“These funds will go toward what our kindergartens truly need today,” the statement reads.
The Regional State Administration clarified that the funding was made possible by a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, which allocated 41.1 million hryvnias—raised through the UNITED24 platform—to support preschool education institutions in frontline regions.
The grant will be directed to kindergartens in the Avangardivska, Baltska, Berezivska, Bilhorod-Dnistrovska, Bilyayivska, Lyubashivska, Oknyanska, Pivdennivska, Fontanska, Chornomorska, and Odesa city communities.
“For the Odesa region, which lives under wartime conditions every day, such support is particularly important. Our children must learn in safe and comfortable conditions, and kindergartens must continue to operate despite all challenges,” the Odesa Regional State Administration added.
Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City State Administration, reported that Odesa’s kindergartens received over 2 million hryvnias in state subsidies to create a safe educational environment.
