In the Mykolaiv region, farmers will be able to receive partial compensation for the costs of building and reconstructing reclamation systems. It is a reimbursement of up to 50% of the costs, but not more than UAH 26,500 per hectare.

This was announced during a briefing by representatives of the Department of Agricultural Development of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

In addition, separate support is provided for water user organizations - up to 10% compensation for the costs of reconstruction and overhaul of pumping stations. For the de-occupied territories, the level of assistance is planned to be significantly increased - up to 80%.

The region is also expanding support for the agricultural sector in other areas. In particular, farmers in the frontline areas will be reimbursed up to 30% of the cost of purchasing fish stock for aquaculture development.

In addition, direct financial assistance is provided for farms in the frontline areas - UAH 1,000 per hectare of cultivated land.

The Ministry of Economy notes that about 570 agricultural enterprises in the region should receive support in 2025. The total amount of funding is UAH 210 million. Payments will be made throughout the year, depending on the availability of funds.

Mykolaiv region also plans to introduce a full-fledged agricultural insurance system, which should further protect farmers from risks in difficult conditions.

As previously reported by Intent, due to the severe drought in Mykolaiv region, farmers are recording significant losses, especially corn and sunflower crops. Local communities have already received about 700 appeals from farmers.

Farmers said they had not experienced a drought of this severity in the last 30 years. The losses incurred by the farmers currently amount to about UAH 200 million. The drought has caused an outbreak of pests and diseases.
