In Mykolaiv, a serviceman started a drunken rampage in a store. He smashed the door with bottles of wine and ate candy right off the shelf, but the court did not punish him severely.

This is stated in the verdict of the Zavodsky District Court of Mykolaiv.

According to the case file, the incident occurred on April 8, 2025, in an ATB supermarket. According to the investigation, at about 17:43, the serviceman entered the store at 20/3 General Oleksa Almazova Street, where he opened a box of Raffaello chocolates and began eating them while walking between the shelves with alcohol in his hands.

The man reacted aggressively to the security guard's remarks about the ban on drinking alcohol inside the store: he first cursed the security officer and then threw a bottle of wine at him. He then took two more bottles and threw one at another security guard, and another at the glass door of the store, breaking the glass. The damage caused amounted to UAH 15,785.

The serviceman pleaded guilty in full, repented and agreed to a simplified trial without a court hearing. The court took into account that the defendant had no previous convictions, has two children, and also recognized sincere remorse as a mitigating circumstance. The aggravating circumstance was being in a state of intoxication.

Instead of imprisonment, the court sentenced the soldier to a one-year probationary supervision. He was also ordered to pay the amount of material damage in favor of ATB-Market LLC.

Meanwhile, in Mykolaiv region, a convicted man was released for contract military service. He was placed under two-year administrative supervision and restricted from moving outside the military unit.

He had previously fined a serviceman for trying to prevent police from detaining his brother with a shovel.
