At its meeting on January 13, the Coordination Council of Maidan NGOs decided not to participate in the general meeting of Igor Palytsia with the public scheduled for January 15.
Taking into account that during the three weeks of the Regional State Administration's absence, the communities of the city and districts of the region have accumulated many urgent issues, and considering that many members of the public will travel a long way from different parts of the region to meet with the head of the RSA, the Coordination Council of Maidan NGOs decided at its meeting on January 13 not to participate in the general meeting of Igor Palytsia with the public scheduled for January 15.
"The public associations that are members of the Coordination Council of Maidan NGOs need to meet with the representative of the central government in Odesa region, Igor Palytsia, as soon as possible to form a transparent mechanism of dialogue and discuss the most pressing problems and situations that have arisen in the city of the region, including during his absence from his workplace.
But at the same time, we understand that the format of the discussion proposed by Igor Palytsia on January 15 will not allow us to achieve the desired results. In addition, the representatives of the Coordination Council are sympathetic to other public associations operating in Odesa, and especially in Odesa Oblast, and also have a number of issues and problems that need to be discussed with the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration.
Taking this into account, the Coordination Council of Maidan NGOs made a responsible decision not to participate in the general discussion of the head of Odesa region with the public on January 15," the press service of the Councilreports .
"We hope that Igor Palytsia will find time in his work schedule to meet with representatives of the Coordination Council in a format more appropriate for developing real mechanisms of cooperation, as well as important decisions on security in Odesa and Odesa region, the fight against terrorism, changes in humanitarian policy in the region, lustration, reforms and decisions necessary to return the situation with the construction on Lanzheron beach to the legal framework," the statement reads.
