The members of the Standing Committee on Emergency Situations and Elimination of Their Consequences, Ecology and Digital Transformation of the Odesa City Council agreed to submit to the session the issue of allocating funds for the installation, maintenance and service of the city's alert systems for 2026-2028.

During the meeting, Volodymyr Kharishchak, Director of the Municipal Security Department of the Odesa City Council, proposed to allocate UAH 26.1 million for alerts in 2026, and UAH 70 million each for 2027 and 2028.

"These are mostly project estimates," the official said.

In addition, he said, these amounts include radio stations for the city council's leadership in case mobile communication does not work.

"We have already had such cases when mobile operators failed to provide communication in some areas of the city. To avoid this situation, we are including radio stations in this project that will work regardless of the availability of mobile communication in the city," he explained.

The municipal security department requested an increase of UAH 8.1 million for communication channels and warning system maintenance services. They plan to double the number of warning points.

"Today, we have 200 such points in the city, and we will have 400," Kharishchak shared his plans.

According to him, the project also provides for the installation of light displays in places where people with hearing impairments live.

"That is, they will be installed not all over the city, but where there are many people with hearing impairments," said the official.

According to him, such boards will also be installed in shelters.

Earlier, members of the Standing Committee on Communal Property of Odesa City Council refused to support the issue of transferring the premises to the ownership of the regional council.
