In Kherson region, the state has managed to return to state ownership land plots totaling more than 300 hectares that were illegally withdrawn from the communal property of the Tyahyn territorial community of Beryslav district.

According to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, the decision of the Velyko Oleksandrivskyi District Court satisfied five claims filed by the prosecutor's office in the interests of the Tyahyn village council and the military administration. The court ruled to reclaim the land from individuals who had illegally registered it for themselves.

Prosecutors found that the criminals used false documents to register the property rights. In particular, the registration files contained forged orders of the local administration that did not actually provide for the transfer of land. In addition, state acts of ownership were not issued, and the cadastral registrar's certificates did not correspond to the official information in the land cadastre.

Along with establishing the illegality of the transactions, law enforcement officers exposed a criminal group of nine people involved in the land fraud.

The prosecutor's office noted that five people have already pleaded guilty, entered into agreements with prosecutors and received a 5-year prison sentence with a probationary period.

Pre-trial investigation is currently underway against four more suspects, including the organizer of the scheme.

In the first quarter of 2025, almost 500 hectares of land in Kherson region were returned to state ownership, and frauds worth UAH 85 million were prevented.

Earlier, the Beryslav District Prosecutor's Office protected the interests of the state by returning land plots with a total area of almost 38 hectares to the forest fund of Kherson region.

The prosecutor's office also protected the land of theOleksandrivskyi Nature Reserve Fund from illegal use.
