The Shevchenkivska rural community in Mykolaiv Oblast, which suffered significant damage during the occupation, will receive support from the Korosten community in Zhytomyr Oblast. The cooperation will take place within the framework of the national project"Side by Side: Cohesive Communities", which provides assistance to the frontline regions.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv ATC.

Representatives of Korosten, the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, and the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration arrived in the Shevchenkivska Hromada. They inspected the destroyed settlements and discussed the priority needs of local residents.

Oleg Pylypenko, head of the community, emphasized that in some villages almost all infrastructure and residential buildings were destroyed, but reconstruction is ongoing thanks to government support, philanthropists and international partners.

Korosten is ready to provide construction materials for infrastructure repairs and will invite children from the Shevchenko community to a vacation in March. Sports tournaments, excursions and meetings with local schoolchildren will be organized for them.

Oleksandr Synitskyi, deputy mayor of Korosten, emphasized that such partnerships are not only about rebuilding, but also about strengthening the unity of the country.

According to project coordinator Maksym Mykhailyk, the program is aimed at long-term support for frontline communities, including humanitarian aid, infrastructure restoration, and economic development.

Earlier, six communities in Mykolaiv Oblast joined the national initiative"Side by Side: United Communities!". This project aims to unite the efforts of Ukrainian communities to support the settlements most affected by the war.

Recently, communities in Mykolaiv region presented new prospects for cooperation and investment to Danish partners. A new model of cooperation emerged at the meeting: specific communities in the region work with communities in Denmark. Three key areas of cooperation were identified: economic potential development, creation of a council of entrepreneurs, and cooperation in waste and water management.
