In Kherson region, the director of a utility company is accused of embezzlement. He faces up to eight years in prison, and the case file has already been submitted to court.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson regional police.

In the Kherson region, the director of a utility company is accused of embezzling more than 264 thousand hryvnias.

Investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in the region, under the supervision of the prosecutor's office, completed a pre-trial investigation against the 43-year-old suspect. The case file on charges of two crimes was submitted to the court.

According to the investigation, from April 2023 to March 2024, the director of a municipal enterprise of the Kherson City Council knowingly entered false information into official documents, in particular, into the time sheets of one person. As a result, he embezzled the company's funds in the amount of UAH 264,635, abusing his official position.

His actions are classified under Part 1 of Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (entering false information in documents by an official) and Part 4 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine(embezzlement of other people's property by abuse of office under martial law). During the investigation, the suspect's property was seized.

The indictment has now been sent to court, and the suspect faces up to eight years in prison.

Also in May, the court took into custody in absentia the former director of the Kherson Municipal Transport Service, suspected of embezzling budget funds during the temporary occupation. He was banned from posting bail until he is detained and brought to court.

The investigation established that in April-May 2022, the official transferred more than UAH 630 thousand to the cards of five people who did not actually work, registering the transfers as payment for work performed.
