Iryna, a resident of the Korabelny district, says that she and her husband barely managed to hide when the "arrivals" began.

"It was a Grad rocket. One after the other came. I hid behind the wardrobe, my husband hid in the toilet. The explosions smashed the windows, the door was jammed, and we had to break it open with an ax," the woman says.

According to her, a drone was heard in the sky before the shelling."I was outside drinking coffee when I heard it buzzing. I ran into the house and that's when it started. Then came the Grads, there were several of them, five for sure. Fortunately, none of our neighbors were injured," Iryna added.

Another resident said that shells exploded near residential buildings:"The house was shaking when the Grads hit. It was scary, everything was rumbling around."

16-year-old Anton Rohozhyn was one of the wounded during the shelling. The boy says the explosion happened right in his room.

"The first hit was in my entrance, or rather in my room. I didn't even hear it - it hit my right side, now my leg and arm hurt, and my ear is ringing. Doctors say I have a concussion," Anton says.

According to Inna Kholodnyak, director of the Kherson Children's Regional Hospital, the boy suffered a mine-blast injury, concussion and superficial wounds to his head and torso. His condition is moderate and he is receiving the necessary treatment.

Locals say that the number of "arrivals" was significant - several cluster munitions and Grad rockets damaged houses on both sides of the street. Some residents assume that the attack was preceded by a reconnaissance drone flight.

Despite the destruction, people are grateful that they escaped death."Thank God we are alive. Wewillrebuildtherest," says local resident Iryna.
