A 55-year-old resident of Kherson region was served a notice of suspicion of collaboration in absentia(Part 2 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation found that in September 2022, the suspect joined the so-called "precinct election commission No. 301" in Antonivka and helped organize an illegal referendum on the region's "accession" to Russia.

The woman worked in a school building where the occupiers set up an illegal "polling station". She issued ballots, checked voters' documents and facilitated the "voting". She was also a member of the field commissions that went door-to-door and encouraged people to vote.

The investigation in this case is being conducted by the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson region.

Recently, four former law enforcement officers from the Kherson region were accused of collaborating with the occupiers. They sided with the enemy during the temporary occupation of the region in 2022 and began working in the illegal Russian-controlled Genichesk District Police Department.

The SBU exposed and served suspicion notices to three residents of Kherson region who cooperated with the occupiers and took administrative positions in illegal authorities.

In addition, law enforcement officers served suspicion notices to two residents of Kherson who worked for the enemy in the "police department" during the occupation of the city. These are a 37-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man. They are suspected of voluntarily taking up positions in the illegally created "Suvorov City Police" that operated under the control of the invaders.

The court also sentenced a former police major from Kherson region who voluntarily defected to the occupiers. He was found guilty of committing serious criminal offenses, including treason and collaboration.
