With the support of public prosecution by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, a local resident was found guilty of attempted premeditated murder of four people and illegal handling of ammunition. The court sentenced him to 15 years in prison.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors proved that in May 2023, a group of acquaintances was vacationing near a house in Kherson, while an unfamiliar man took pictures of the yard nearby. When the people asked him questions, he responded with threats and left. The people decided that the conflict was over.

However, the attacker soon returned and approached the company, took out two grenades and threw them in turn toward the people. Later, the explosions caused four victims to sustain injuries of varying severity. During a subsequent search of the accused's apartment, law enforcement officers found another grenade and an assault rifle with ammunition. At the court hearing, the accused partially pleaded guilty. He will be kept in custody until the verdict enters into force.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the Main National Police in Kherson region.

Earlier, a businesswoman from Crimea was convicted for many years of cooperation with the occupation structures and the supply of equipment to the occupied Kherson region. She conducted business through the Russian public procurement system and worked in the interests of the aggressor state.

The investigation established that in August 2014, she voluntarily registered herself as a private entrepreneur under Russian law. Later, knowing about the occupation of Crimea and the ban on any economic activity related to the Russian Federation, she created an account on the Russian public procurement portal. This gave her the opportunity to work with budgetary institutions of the aggressor state and illegal so-called "authorities" in the occupied territories.
