Kherson resident agrees to work for the occupiers' tax office

A court has sentenced a resident of Kherson region who agreed to cooperate with Russians and went to work for the occupation 'tax<b>'</b> service.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The woman was found guilty of holding a position in an illegal law enforcement agency (although the tax service is not a law enforcement agency, this qualification is often used for occupation structures).

The investigation proved that in June 2022, the accused voluntarily took the position of 'head of the general department' in the illegally created occupation 'tax service of Kherson region'.

In this pseudo-position, she deliberately contributed to the strengthening of the occupation regime by ensuring the functioning of an illegal body, thus supporting the temporary occupation of part of the region. Her actions were qualified as holding a position in an illegal law enforcement agency (despite the civilian nature of the "tax" structure).

The court also deprived the convict of the right to hold any public office, as well as to engage in law enforcement and public services for a period of 15 years. Since the verdict was passed in absentia, the 15-year sentence will begin only from the moment of the convict's actual detention.

Earlier, a 24-year-old native of Donetsk region was found guilty of attempting to commit sabotage at the Ukrzaliznytsia facility in Odesa for a reward. According to the investigation, the man acted on the instructions of an unidentified person, allegedly connected with Russian special services.

The investigation established that on March 22, 2025, the accused received a message via the Telegram messenger with a proposal to set fire to an auto-locking relay cabinet on one of the railway sections in Odesa for USD 100. This equipment is used to signal and block train traffic.

The next day, the man bought a flammable substance and on the morning of March 23 poured it on the relay cabinet and set it on fire. However, the equipment was not damaged, and the accused fled the scene without receiving the promised reward.
