A former chief of staff in Kherson region was served a notice of suspicion of receiving illegal benefits. The official of the military unit organized inclusion of subordinates in combat orders, which allowed the latter to receive payments for alleged service in the combat zone. For this, the defendant received part of the funds from unjustifiably accrued payments to servicemen.

This was reported by the press service of the National Police.

During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the former chief of staff of one of the brigades received UAH 228 thousand of illegal benefits from his subordinates for including the latter in a combat order and receiving appropriate payments without actually being in the combat zone.

The official was procedurally detained and served a notice of suspicion. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to ten years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property.

Earlier, police officers and the State Bureau of Investigation detained the commander of the line and cable department of a military unit in Odesa region on suspicion of extortion and receiving bribes from subordinates.

Also in Odesa, a nurse was arrested for demanding a bribe for influencing TEC and REC officials. The court ruled that the woman could be released if she posted bail of almost UAH 400,000. The investigation established several facts of receiving illegal benefits. In August, the woman received 25 thousand hryvnias from one of the persons liable for military service for influencing the change of diagnosis in her husband's ID card and deregistration. Later, she demanded USD 6 thousand in a public catering establishment, and on August 26 received this amount from her husband, who appealed to law enforcement. The money was seized when the offender was detained.
