Kherson region has the fewest alimony debtors. In neighboring regions, the situation is worse: Mykolaiv region has almost six times as many debtors, and Odesa region has eight times as many.

This is evidenced by data from the Opendatabot monitoring service.

As of mid-July 2025, the Unified Register of Debtors contains 187,116 proceedings for non-payment of alimony. This is more than 23 thousand more than before the full-scale invasion, an overall increase of 14%. It should be borne in mind that this data does not reflect the total number of debtors, but the net increase in the number of proceedings - some cases are closed, others are added.

Most debtors are men: they appear in 91% of cases. However, most of the proceedings against one person were opened against a woman - a resident of Kyiv region. By age, the majority of alimony payers are aged 25 to 45, accounting for almost 86% of proceedings. Persons under the age of 25 account for slightly more than 7%, and those over the age of 45 - about 6.6%.

The largest number of proceedings for non-payment of alimony was opened in Dnipropetrovska oblast (26,268). This is followed by Odesa (13,516), Kharkiv (13,011), Donetsk (11,680), and Kyiv (11,050) regions.

At the same time, Kherson region is the only region where the situation has improved dramatically: the number of alimony cases here decreased 6.4 times - from 11,139 to only 1,727, which is the lowest figure in Ukraine.

For comparison, 7,858 proceedings were registered in Mykolaiv region, and 8 times more in Odesa region than in Kherson.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the number of alimony cases has increased significantly in Kharkiv region - by 5.4 times (from 2,400 to more than 13,000), and in Chernihiv region - by 2.2 times (from 2,198 to 4,747).

At the same time, Odesa region ranked fourth in Ukraine and became the leader among the southern regions in terms of the number of births in the first half of 2025. According to analysts of the Opendatabot platform, 6,177 babies were born in this region in six months.

In the same period, 2,241 newborns were registered in Mykolaiv region, and 196 in Kherson region.
