Kherson Region: 14 Occupation Officials Charged With Collaboration

Fourteen officials of the occupation police and the "Ministry of Emergency Situations" of Kherson region were served suspicion notices in absentia of collaboration. Among them are traitors who worked in similar structures of Ukraine.

According to the Center for Investigative Journalism, SBU investigators found that 38-year-old Serhiy Stryuk from Skadovsk voluntarily headed the so-called State Fire and Rescue Unit (SFRU) No. 6 of the occupation Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kherson region in the summer of 2022. According to the CHR, Stryuk helped the occupiers squeeze out pharmacies and other property in Skadovsk.

Another suspect is a native of the village of Lozove, Crimea, a resident of Simferopol, Lieutenant Colonel of the Internal Service, 44-year-old Valery Golubovich. At the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014, the man worked as the head of the training and organization sector of the emergency response units of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. In March 2014, he moved to a similar position in the illegally created headquarters of the occupation Ministry of Emergency Situations in Crimea. From 2021 to 2023, Holubovych worked as a senior inspector of the personnel department of the Department of Personnel, Educational Work and Professional Education of the occupation Ministry of Emergencies in Crimea. In 2003, he worked as the chief of guard of the 15th independent state fire department of Simferopol. During the occupation of the Kherson region, he became the assistant head of the main department of the occupation Ministry of Emergencies in the Kherson region in 2023.

The third suspect is a 31-year-old resident of the village of Promin, Horokhiv village community, Bashtanka district, Mykolaiv region. Since the summer of 2022, she has been working as the deputy head of the department for monitoring, modeling and organization of preventive measures of the crisis management center of the occupation Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kherson region.

The State Bureau of Investigation also served a notice of suspicion to 41-year-old Vitaliy Pospelov from the village of Novotroitske, Genichesk district. He became the deputy head of the Novotroitsk "district department" of the occupation Ministry of Emergency Situations. Now, according to occupation sources, the man is the head of the Novotroitsk fire and rescue unit of the occupation Ministry of Emergency Situations. Pospelov is a former deputy head of the 3rd fire and rescue unit of the Kherson regional headquarters of the State Emergency Service.

All of them were notified in absentia of suspicion of collaboration. They face up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
