The chief accountant of the economic department of the occupation emergency service in Kherson region was put in the dock. She faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for cooperation.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, during the Russian occupation of the city, a resident of Kherson voluntarily went over to the enemy and took the position of "chief accountant" in the illegally created Department of Economics and Finance of the so-called "Service for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Relief in Kherson Region."

The woman headed a department under her supervision and ensured the work of the occupation administration, thus contributing to the functioning of the illegal government.

The indictment was sent to court under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for a sentence of imprisonment for 12 to 15 years with a ban on holding certain positions or conducting certain activities for a term of 10 to 15 years. Property confiscation is also possible.

Meanwhile, two occupiers' accomplices who held senior positions will be tried in Kherson region. In 2022, two local residents voluntarily cooperated with the Russian invaders. One of them was promoted to the position of "head of the social policy department," and the other headed the "media and public relations department."

A case against a former tax service employee who made her career under the Russian invaders was brought to court. The woman is accused of treason and faces life imprisonment.

The court also sentenced Olga Volyk, the illegal head of a social service center in Kakhovka, Kherson region. The director was sentenced to 11 years in prison. From June 2022 to January 2024, Olga Volik headed the illegally created territorial social service center in Kakhovka, where she was in charge of personnel and administrative work. The woman was thanked by the occupation authorities for her "conscientious work and active civic position".
