Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, a law enforcement officer from Kherson was served a notice of suspicion of violating traffic safety rules, which caused the victim's death.

According to the agency, in September 2024, the 21-year-old suspect, driving a company car, was leaving a secondary road for the main road, which was marked with appropriate road signs. At that time, another driver was traveling on the main road and had the right of way.

The suspect did not comply with the request to give way and caused a collision. The injured driver sustained numerous injuries, including comminuted fractures, and died as a result of significant blood loss and traumatic shock.

Earlier, the media found out that the son of Volodymyr Topchyi, a member of the Mykolaiv City Council and director of the zoo, had caused an accident in the city center while drunk. On November 1, at about 17:50, on Sadova Street in Mykolaiv, a 39-year-old driver of a Mitsubishi Outlander crashed into a parked Renault Sandero with a 42-year-old female driver.

The State Bureau of Investigation also completed a pre-trial investigation into a law enforcement officer who committed a drunken car accident near the village of Yeremiivka in Odesa Oblast. In December 2023, the law enforcement officer was driving a car while intoxicated. There were three passengers in the car with him. At a speed of about 140-160 km/h, he collided with a truck traveling in the opposite direction. As a result of the accident, one of the law enforcement officer's passengers had his legs amputated, and another suffered numerous fractures and abrasions. The driver's blood alcohol content was found to be 1.47 ppm. Due to this incident, the man was fired from law enforcement.
