Kherson boxer wins first place at a tournament in Germany

On October 3, 2025, the prestigious Gerhard Winnerl Memorial Turnier international boxing tournament took place in Bavaria (Germany), where the Ukrainian athlete won.

This was reported on the page of the Spartak Children's Youth Sports School.

The competition was attended by a pupil of the Spartak Children's and Youth Sports School of the Kherson City Council <b>, Angelina Guzyk</b>. Competing in the weight category of up to 54 kg, the Kherson boxer had two fights. As a result of her performances, the champion won, representing Ukraine in the international sports arena. Her coach is Andriy Sats.

Earlier, an athlete from Kherson region, Emir Khan Musayev, became one of the five strongest wrestlers at the World Beach Wrestling Championships held in Katerini, Greece. More than 20 countries took part in the competition. Emir Musayev, a pupil of the Kherson Regional Council's wrestling school, competed in the under-20 category and in the 70 kg weight category.

Having taken fifth place, he became one of the strongest wrestlers in the world in his category, the Kherson Regional Military Administration confirmed.

Mykolaiv para-swimmer <b>Anna Gontar</b> won a bronze medal at the World Championships in Singapore. The competition began on September 21 and lasted until September 27.

On the first day of the competition, the athlete showed a result in the 100-meter backstroke. Three other athletes from Mykolaiv region also competed at the championships as part of the Ukrainian team: <b>Sergey Palamarchuk, Dmitry Vasilenko</b> and <b>Angelina Maltseva</b>. In total, 580 paraswimmers from 75 countries took part in the competition.

As a reminder, Anna is a bronze medalist at the Paralympic Games in Japan, a multiple champion and medalist at the World and European Championships. She is a native of Kherson, but represents Mykolaiv region at the competition.
