Izmail was attacked at night - there are victims

On the night of May 16, Russians attacked the south of Odesa region, particularly the city of Izmail.

According to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, residential and port infrastructure was damaged, and there were injuries.

In particular, an unmanned aerial vehicle hit a five-story residential building. The façade and glazing were damaged, and the balconies and a car shop on the ground floor caught fire.

In addition, a one-story residential building was damaged, injuring two people. The attack also damaged the port's infrastructure, including a warehouse and an administrative building. Glass was smashed in the facilities. Debris fell on the territory of the educational institution.

Rodion Abashev, head of the Izmail district military administration, added that 39 settlements in Izmail district were cut off from power as a result of the damage to overhead lines, leaving 22,662 subscribers without electricity. Power engineers are working to restore the power.
