The executive committee of the Izmail City Council in Odesa Oblast has decided to hold a national minute of silence every day on the territory of the community, stopping city public transport for this purpose.

This was reported by the press service of the Izmail City Council.

In particular, the executive committee decided that buses and taxis would stop running in the city from 8:59 to 9:01 every day. Drivers of passenger cars will also have to stop, but whenever possible and in accordance with traffic rules. Carriers were advised to broadcast a minute of silence in public transport, and the patrol police were asked to monitor the implementation of the decision.

In many cities of Ukraine, at 9:00 a.m., during the national minute of silence, traffic and all activity stops so that everyone can honor the memory of the victims of Russian aggression.

Recently, the history of the Odesa "Minute of Silence" has also begun, so the live broadcast of Intent.Insight on April 22 was dedicated to this. As of now, this is a weekly event where concerned citizens gather to honor the memory of all those who died as a result of Russian aggression and to remind others of the importance of memory.

Moreover, the Odesa Regional Military Administration did not coordinate the "Honor 9:00" events in Odesa for a month. When these events began in the winter of 2024, the organizers did not know that they needed to be coordinated with the OMA, and the first three events were held simply by informing the mayor's office about the event. They were held twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday.

It should be noted that in 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a decree that launched a national minute of silence for the fallen compatriots every day at 9:00 a.m.
