The Housing and Communal Services Department of the Izmail City Council has begun searching for a contractor to overhaul part of Victory Square and arrange the Walk of Fame to honor the memory of fallen Izmail defenders.
An Intent correspondent reports this with reference to the public procurement website Prozorro.
The customer estimated the cost of the work at UAH 12 million 537 thousand. Funding will be divided into two stages: UAH 6.37 million of the total amount will be allocated from the city treasury this year, and the rest - in 2026.
The alley will be located on the site of a modernized flowerbed in the northern part of Victory Square, opposite the Izmail City Central Hospital. Perennial flower beds will be planted on the round-shaped land plot, as well as a composition in patriotic colors of 80 yellow and 80 blue petunias. A stand will be mounted on a reinforced concrete foundation, structures for mounting photos and for laying flowers, and waterproofing will be installed. At night, the Walk of Fame will be illuminated. For this purpose, six LED lamps on metal supports will be installed around it, and another 72 ground lamps of 15 kW will be installed. The structures with portraits of fallen defenders will also be illuminated. A pipeline will be laid to the green zone.
The construction of the Alley of Glory in Izmail is to be completed by December 15, 2026.
An auction to select a contractor is scheduled for March 3.
As a reminder, in July 2024, an online vote was held to select the location of the Walk of Fame in Izmail. According to the results of the voting, Victory Square, located near the Izmail City Council, received the largest number of votes - 40.5%.
In the fall of 2024, architect Olha Pashevska developed a basic pre-design concept for the Walk of Fame. The city council spent almost 200 thousand hryvnias on the development of the preliminary design.
