Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 400 cases of damage and destruction of educational institutions in Kherson region are being investigated as a result of systematic shelling of civilian infrastructure and residential areas.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The report says that educational institutions in Kherson (210), Kherson (55), and Beryslav (155) districts were damaged the most. Institutions in Beryslav (10), Kherson (1) and Kakhovka (1) districts were completely destroyed.

It is noted that these data are not final due to the lack of access to the sites of shelling in the areas of active hostilities and in the temporarily occupied territories. The destruction of educational institutions as a result of shelling deprives hundreds of pupils and students across the region of access to education.

The press service added that among the destroyed facilities is the onlyGreen School in Ukraine in Antonivka, which had more than 200 students. The school was created with the support of the Finnish government and had an air purification system - recuperation, as well as solar panels on the roof.

It is noted that law enforcement agencies have recorded 123 facts of the Russian military using the premises of educational institutions in the occupied territories for their own military purposes, which is expressly prohibited by international humanitarian law.

Earlier it was reported that at the beginning of the new school year, 131 educational institutions were damaged in the Kherson community.
