UNDP in Ukraine has donated three specially equipped medical vehicles to communities in Mykolaiv Oblast. Thanks to this initiative, family doctors will be able to be closer to the needs of community residents, providing preventive and diagnostic care on the ground.

This was reported by the press service of UNDP in Ukraine.

With the support of the Danish Government, the cars were handed over to the Snihurivska, Voznesenska and Mostivska territorial communities.

According to the press service, these vehicles will help local doctors respond more quickly to calls even in the most remote corners of the region, which is especially important in the face of increased pressure on the health care system.

The vehicles are equipped to operate as mobile clinics, where they can provide basic services, consultations and prompt assistance to the most vulnerable categories of the population. This will significantly improve access to healthcare services, improving the health and quality of life of the community.

Thanks to international support, a modern rehabilitation department was opened at the Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital. The project was implemented with the financial support of the international organization Project HOPE. The new unit will be able to treat up to 700 patients annually.

The rehabilitation unit will provide medical services to the military, those wounded by shelling, stroke victims and other groups of people.

In early November, Mykolaiv City Emergency Hospital received the latest equipment that will improve the quality of medical care for victims of the explosions.

This equipment is especially important for the emergency hospital, which serves more than 20,000 patients annually. The aid was provided with the support of UNDP and funded by the Japanese government.

In October, French philanthropists handed over a batch of humanitarian aid to Mykolaiv hospitals. In addition to medical supplies, the region received power generators. The shipment included nearly 40 items, including medicines, medical supplies, surgical clothing, safety glasses, and consumables.

Five more communities in Mykolaiv Oblast received new Renault Duster cars for their primary healthcare centers. The assistance came from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
