In the Odesa region, the case of a mother from whose family three young children were temporarily removed has been referred to court. There was no food in the house, and she was intoxicated.
According to the regional police press office, this was discovered during a routine check of families in the Ivanivska community of the Berezivsky District.
The conditions in which the children were living were dangerous. The house was in disarray, and there was no food. The three young children, despite the cold weather, were not properly clothed. The mother was intoxicated.
The woman was charged under Part 1 of Article 184 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. This article pertains to the neglect of parental duties: parents failing to provide their children with the necessary conditions for life, education, and upbringing. The case materials were forwarded to the court.

Due to the threat to the children’s health and safety, the relevant authorities decided to temporarily remove them from the family. The children, aged three months, three years, and five years, were placed with a foster family—a family that temporarily takes children into its care. There, they will receive the necessary care and living conditions.
Social services, together with other authorized agencies, will assess the situation in the family. Further decisions will be made with the children’s best interests in mind.

Police noted that this family was found during a neighborhood visit. A senior inspector from the district’s juvenile prevention unit, together with child welfare services from both communities, visited 15 families. These families are raising 53 children ranging in age from three months to 18 years. Among these families are some who find themselves in difficult life circumstances.
