In the Odesa region, the commander of a military unit was detained after he had been forcing his subordinates to work on the construction of his private home for several months. During a search of the site, approximately 83 military personnel were found.

During a search of the construction site, law enforcement officers found 83 military personnel performing construction work.

The investigation also documented the use of military freight vehicles to transport construction materials.

According to the Prosecutor General, these actions were systematic in nature. He emphasizes that this involves not only the illegal use of state resources but also the diversion of military personnel from combat duties, which, under martial law, could have affected the unit’s combat readiness.

The major was detained. Under the procedural supervision of the Odesa Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense Affairs in the Southern Region, he was notified of charges under Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty for this offense is up to 12 years in prison.
