In the Kherson region, a Russian drone killed a monk and wounded four others

Three people were killed and nine others were wounded, including a child, as a result of Russian attacks in the Kherson region over the past 24 hours. 

This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, and the regional prosecutor’s office.

According to the Regional State Administration, between 6:00 a.m. on September 19 and 6:00 a.m. on September 20, Kherson and more than 40 settlements in the region came under enemy fire.

In particular, Russian forces attacked Beryslav, Novoraysk, Novovorontsovka, Lvivski Otruby, Osokorivka, Bilozerka, Darivka, Antonivka, Komyshany, Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, and other settlements.

The occupiers targeted critical and social infrastructure as well as residential neighborhoods. A high-rise building and 16 private homes, a gas station, a monastery, a farm building, a gas pipeline, and private vehicles were damaged .

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, as of 5:30 p.m. on September 19, two people were reported killed and three injured as a result of Russian shelling.

Around 11:00 a.m., a 52-year-old woman was killed by an artillery strike in Novovorontsovka. Her 14-year-old daughter and mother were injured.

In the village of Lvivski Otruby in the Beryslav District, a Russian drone attacked a 64-year-old woman. She sustained fatal injuries.

Another civilian was wounded in an artillery strike in Kherson.

Separately, the prosecutor’s office reported a Russian drone strike on the St. Gregory Bizyukivsky Monastery in the Beryslav district. The attack occurred around 3:00 p.m.

A 71-year-old monk was killed in the strike, and four other monks sustained injuries of varying severity. The monastery buildings were damaged.

Thus, the prosecutor’s office separately confirmed the deaths of three civilians—a 52-year-old woman, a 64-year-old woman, and a 71-year-old monk.

Law enforcement officials have launched pretrial investigations into alleged war crimes under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
