Law enforcement officials have notified the director of a construction company and a technical supervision engineer that they are under suspicion of causing nearly 2 million hryvnias in losses to the state budget during the reconstruction of housing in the de-occupied village of Posad-Pokrovske in the Kherson region.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigation, the construction company was supposed to carry out repair work and build new private homes to replace those destroyed as a result of hostilities in the village of Posad-Pokrovske, Chornobaivska community.

Investigators believe that in April and November 2024, the company’s director submitted certificates of completed work totaling nearly 8 million hryvnias to the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in the Kherson region.

Law enforcement officials allege that the documents contained false information regarding the actual scope of work performed, the quantity of construction materials used, and their cost.

At the same time, according to the investigation, the technical supervision engineer—who was supposed to verify the quality and scope of the work performed—did not detect any violations and signed the relevant certificates.

The prosecutor’s office notes that these actions caused losses to the state budget amounting to nearly 2 million hryvnias.

The director of the construction company has been notified of suspicion of embezzlement and misappropriation of property on an especially large scale, as well as official forgery. The technical supervision engineer is charged with official negligence.

Recently, in the Kherson region, the director of a construction company was notified of suspicion of embezzling budget funds during the renovation of a local history museum in the de-occupied territory of the Beryslav district.

As a reminder, a court in Kherson granted investigators temporary access to documentation regarding the constructionof radiationshelters for schools. The case involves the possible embezzlement or misappropriation of budget funds.
