On June 17, some of Odesa’s public transit services will operate on a modified schedule due to scheduled maintenance on the power infrastructure. For certain routes, city authorities will organize additional bus trips to ensure passenger transportation.

This was reported by the press service of the Odesa City Council.

According to city hall, due to a temporary power outage at certain traction substations serving the city’s electric transit system, tram and trolleybus service will be partially restricted throughout the day in the Kyivskyi and Primorskyi districts of Odesa.

Specifically, tram No. 5 will run only on the route “Bus Station – Oleksiyivska Square,” tram No. 7 will run from Starosinnaya Square to 28th Brigade Street, and tram No. 28—from Pastera Street to Oleksiyivska Square.

At the same time, tram routes No. 10, No. 13, No. 17, and No. 18 will be temporarily suspended.

To compensate for the service on tram route No. 5, buses No. 5tr will run on the “Railway Station – Arkadia” route via Frantsuzsky Boulevard. The frequency will be between 40 and 60 minutes.

Additionally, to replace trams No. 17 and No. 18, buses on route No. 18k (“Kulikove Pole – 14th Station of Velykyi Fontan”) will operate at the same frequency.

On the route normally served by tram No. 10, city authorities will increase the number of buses on route No. 121.

These changes will also affect trolleybus service. Trolleybus No. 7 will operate on the section “Arhitektorska Street – 10th of April Square,” No. 9 on “Inglese Street – 10th of April Square,” and No. 10 will run between “Inglese Street and the 4th Station of Velykyi Fontan.”

City Hall asks passengers to take these temporary restrictions into account when planning their trips around the city.

In April, the municipal enterprise “Odessmiskelektrotrans” managed to put only 50% of its trams and 45% of its trolleybuses into service.

On March 28, Odessa’s public transit system resumed service in test mode following a prolonged forced shutdown and is now operating as it did before New Year’s.
