In Mykolaiv, cases of vandalism in green areas were recorded: unknown persons damaged flower beds in the Council of Europe park and on Fleet Boulevard. The incidents occurred at a time when spring plantings began to bloom in the city.

According to the Mykolaiv City Council, employees of the municipal enterprise Mykolaiv Parks had previously planted tulips at these locations. However, during the planned landscaping work, it was discovered that some of the flowers had disappeared or been damaged.

The company emphasizes that such actions are unacceptable, as each planted plant is the result of the daily work of employees who invest time, resources and efforts to keep the city well-groomed and attractive.

The utility is already taking measures to prevent similar incidents in the future and preserve the city's green areas.

At the same time, experts urge residents to be responsible for the common property and take care of the landscaping created for the entire community.

Earlier, Intent wrote how in Mykolaiv, unknown persons painted a memorial plaque in honor of the fallen soldier Yevhen Loginov.

In addition, the grave of a fallen soldier was desecrated in a village in Mykolaiv region. Law enforcement officers are taking measures to identify the persons involved in the crime and bring them to justice.

Cases of vandalism in the south of the country are not uncommon. For example, in June, a contractor who receives budget funds for the improvement of green areas removed flags with the names of fallen soldiers from a park near the destroyed building of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration. The wife of the fallen defender found the flags nearby - some were dirty, torn and covered in cobwebs.

Also in Mykolaiv, unknown persons cut a cable from an electric car charging column. This is the third incident in September. Mykolaivoblteploenergo noted that work to restore the charging stations is already underway, and the police are searching for the vandals.

In May, vandals destroyed plastic garbage cans. The reason was arson. The damage amounted to over UAH 100 thousand. In 2023, Mykolaiv residents damaged 87 plastic containers for household waste collection. In total, MykolaivkomunTrans approved 87 garbage containers for write-off, 48 of which were burned.
