Law enforcement officers have succeeded in getting the money that the community overpaid for fuel for schools and kindergartens in Mykolaiv region refunded through the court. The court fully upheld the prosecutor's claim, and the funds are to be returned to the local budget.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The Bashtanka District Prosecutor's Office has succeeded in returning to the community budget the overpaid funds for fuel intended for educational institutions. On March 10, 2026, the Kyiv City Commercial Court fully satisfied the prosecutor's claim and ordered the supplier to reimburse more than UAH 155 thousand.

According to the juvenile prosecutor, in February 2021, the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of the Executive Committee of the Bashtanka City Council entered into a contract with a Kyiv-based limited liability company for the supply of gasoline and diesel fuel for schools and kindergartens in the community.

However, in the course of fulfilling the contract, the parties signed six additional agreements that unreasonably increased the price of fuel and reduced the volume of its supply. Such changes contradicted the Law of Ukraine "On Public Procurement" and led to an unjustified increase in the community's expenses.

As a result, the supplier received UAH 155 thousand more than the amount stipulated in the contract, which effectively nullified the results of the tender. According to the press service, thanks to the intervention of the prosecutor's office, these funds will now return to the local budget.

Recently, in the Mykolaiv region, a court considered a police motion for temporary access to documents and items in a criminal case regarding embezzlement at generators. According to the investigation, village head Valeriy Khomitsky developed a corruption scheme to misappropriate budget funds.

The case file on the possible embezzlement includes Mykolaiv Regional Council deputy Volodymyr Pohadaiev and "humanitarian" generators from the Svitli Deli charity foundation, which is linked to the head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency, Hanna Zamazeyeva.
