On Ukraine’s Independence Day, August 24, passengers wearing vyshyvankas will be able to ride buses operated by the “Mykolaivpastrans” municipal enterprise for free.
According to “Mykolaivpastrans,” this is the company’s traditional Independence Day promotion.
"Mykolaivpastrans" has called on city residents to wear embroidered shirts on this day and take the buses to create a festive atmosphere together and show respect for Ukrainian traditions.
Currently, thousands of Mykolaiv residents use the company’s buses every day. In July, “Mykolaivpastrans” buses carried more than 500,000 passengers.
Every day, 38 buses operate on five city routes, providing connections between various neighborhoods in Mykolaiv.
The company notes that passenger traffic is gradually increasing. They are also working to improve the quality of service and expand options for passengers.
Therefore, on August 24, passengers wearing vyshyvankas will be able to ride “Mykolaivpastrans” buses for free.
Previously, Mykolaiv received 26 newISUZU CITIBUS B902 buses, manufactured in 2025, on credit for 4.5 million euros. They have 25 seats, meet the Euro-5 environmental standard, and are designed for use on city routes.
In addition to expanding its fleet, theMykolaivpastrans municipal enterprise has launched contactless payment for fares. Passengers can now pay with cards from any bank or using contactless methods such as PayPass.
In 2024, thanks to an agreement between the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, and the city council, 4.5 million euros were allocated for the purchase of modernbuses. The loan was structured for a 9-year term with a flexible interest rate.
