In Mykolaiv, officials approved the transfer of land along the Odesa–Melitopol–Novoazovsk highway to the state

The Mykolaiv City Council’s Committee on Ecology and Natural Resource Management once again approved the transfer of a plot of land located beneath the M-14 Odesa–Melitopol–Novoazovsk state highway within the city limits from municipal to state ownership.

The council members adopted this decision following a second vote during the committee meeting.

The plot in question covers an area of 58, 553 square meters and is located beneath the M-14 national highway. This issue had already been considered at a city council session, but at that time it did not receive the required number of votes, so it was resubmitted to the relevant committee meeting.

During the first vote in the committee, the draft resolution was also not approved—five council members voted “in favor,” and one abstained. After one of the council members reported that she had mistakenly voted on the wrong draft, the issue was put to a second vote. On the second vote, all six committee members supported the draft resolution.

Following the committee’s approval, the matter must be resubmitted for consideration at a session of the Mykolaiv City Council.

As a reminder, the Mykolaiv Regional Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service has been announcing tenders since early 2026 for the repair of roads and bridges and the maintenance of transportation infrastructure worth billions of hryvnias. The most expensive projects involved major repairs to bridges and the restoration of strategic highways leading to Mykolaiv, Ochakiv, and resort destinations.

Separately, the service announced tenders for the repair of the M-14 international highway (Odesa–Melitopol–Novoazovsk). More than 288 million hryvnias are planned to be spent on renovating two sections of this highway.

The first tender covers the section from km 69+570 to km 74+310, with anestimated cost of 119.5 million hryvnias. Repairs to the other section—from km 85+000 to km 92+605—areestimated at 168.6 million hryvnias.

In virtually all tenders, with the exception of the 119.5-million-hryvnia procurement, only one company participated—Rostdorstroy. It was this firm that was awarded the contracts.
