On October 29, during an online session of the Mykolaiv City Council, one of the council members made an obscene remark that was broadcast live. This occurred during a discussion of the 2027–2028 budget.
This is evident from the video broadcast of the meeting.
First, Vira Svyatelik, director of the city council’s finance department, spoke about the bleak forecasts for the city budget in the coming years.
Afterward, City Council member Olena Kiselova, chair of the Committee on Human Rights and the Rule of Law, took the floor. She stated that she had many questions.
During the on-air discussion, profanity was unexpectedly heard. First, the word “f**k” was heard, and later, the phrase “are you f**king crazy?”
“As I understand it, Mr. Kucherenko fully supports Olena Vasylivna,” Councilman Dmytro Falco responded.
This is not the first instance of profanity at Mykolaiv City Council meetings. On October 2, during a city council session broadcast online, a deputy also used profanity.
Earlier, Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych also concluded one of the city council meetings with an obscene remark.
It is worth noting that since February 2022, sessions of the Mykolaiv City Council have been held exclusively online due to Russia’s full-scale invasion.
In October 2025, the city council held its first hybrid session since the start of the full-scale war. At that time, 46 council members participated in the session, 22 of whom were present in person, while the rest joined online. Currently, city council meetings continue to be held in a hybrid format.
