The Kyiv District Court of Simferopol, created by Russia, arrested lawyer and human rights activist Rustem Kiamilev for ten days.

This was reported by the Crimean Solidarity.

"The Kyiv District Court of Simferopol ruled to find lawyer Rustem Kiamilev guilty of propaganda and demonstration of prohibited symbols and sentenced him to 10 days of arrest," the statement said.

It is noted that the court announced a break, after which it will begin consideration of the second protocol for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

The Crimean Solidarity also noted that on the same day in the morning, police officers came to the house of lawyers of the Crimean Solidarity public movement Rustem Kiamilev and Lilya Hemedzhi. Employees of the Russian Center for Countering Extremism in Crimea conducted an inspection of the house in relation to the decision of the Russian-controlled Kyiv District Court of Simferopol. Later it became known that after the inspection , Russian security forces detained Rustem Kiamilev.

Two administrative reports were drawn up against lawyer Rustem Kiamilev for two publications on his Facebook page. The first report on propaganda or demonstration of prohibited symbols was drawn up against Rustem Kamilev because of a repost from the page ofthe Crimean Solidarity.

"This is a note about the trial of Ukrainian activist Oleh Prykhodko, which was published in 2020. In the photo, Prikhodko holds a sheet with a drawn flag and a trident. According to the CEE staff, the symbols in the picture belong to the Ukrainian organization 'Right Sector '," Crimean Solidarity said.

The second report was drawn up against Kamilev for "disagreement with the actions of the armed forces of the Russian Federation". According to the CEP staff, Rustem Kiamilev reposted a user's post called "Grigory Yavlinsky" with text and video about the events in Syria and Ukraine: "This is an ethical catastrophe for Russia that will not be forgotten for decades, and perhaps centuries."

"The text goes on to say that the killing of Muslims and the testing of military equipment "is an absolute evil". The publication was made back in 2017, but it is not currently available on Rustem Kamilev's Facebook page ," the organization noted.
