IDPs in the Kherson region received more than 6 million for business

In 2026, internally displaced persons in the Kherson region received 16 microgrants to start or grow their own businesses, totaling more than 6 million hryvnias.

This was reported by the publication “Vgoru,” citing the Kherson Regional Employment Center.

The IDPs used the funds for various types of entrepreneurial activities. These included the sale of food, construction and household goods, baked goods, and sports apparel and footwear.

The grant funds were also used to open restaurants, freight transportation and delivery services, vegetable processing facilities, as well as businesses in the beauty and cosmetic procedures sectors.

Separately, two microgrants totaling 1 million hryvnias were awarded to combat veterans, people with war-related disabilities, and their family members. The funds were used to open a physical and functional rehabilitation center and to launch a transportation business.

As of the end of September, 780 internally displaced persons were registered with the Kherson Regional Employment Service, 675 of whom were classified as unemployed.

The Kherson Regional Employment Center noted that specialists are assisting with the preparation of documents, business plans, and the submission of applications through the “Diya” portal. These services are provided free of charge.
