In Mykolaiv and Kryve Ozero, rallies were held to commemorate war prisoners and missing defenders of Ukraine.

According to Suspilne Mykolaiv, despite the rainy weather, more than 200 people joined the events.

According to the National Police, about 150 people came to the rally in Mykolaiv. Among them was Olena, an internally displaced person from the Kherson region, who is waiting for her husband Oleksandr to return. The soldier went missing on July 19, 2025, while performing a combat mission.

According to the woman, her husband was evacuating Ukrainian soldiers from the left bank of the Kherson region when the boat was hit by a Russian FPV drone. Since then, nothing is known about his fate.

Karina also joined the campaign, looking for her nephew Oleh. The soldier went missing in September 2025 on the border of Dnipro and Donetsk regions. The woman said that her husband has not yet seen his little niece, who was born shortly before his disappearance.

Iryna came to the event to remind about her son Ivan, who went missing on October 16, 2024, in the Kursk direction. According to her, her son was a group commander and repeatedly saved his comrades during difficult combat missions.

About 100 local residents took part in the action in Kryvyi Rih. Among them was Olena Prozorova and her son Yevhen. They have been searching for their husband and father, Serhiy Prozorov, who went missing in Donetsk Oblast in July 2024, for almost two years.

The event was also attended by Natalia Kovinchuk, who is looking for her son Vitaliy, and Oksana Xenofontova. Her son, Oleksandr, went missing in August 2024 after performing combat missions in the Kursk sector.

The participants of the actions emphasized that such events are intended to remind the society of the thousands of Ukrainian defenders who are in captivity or missing, and their families continue to wait for news and return home.

Recently, in Mykolaiv, drivers were urged to honk their horns in support of the captives.

In addition, a rally in support of prisoners of war and missing defenders was held on Marine Corps Day. Marines, soldiers released from Russian captivity, and relatives of soldiers who have not yet returned home joined the rally.

Earlier, another action was held in Yuzhnoukrainsk to commemorate Ukrainian prisoners of war and missing persons. The event was attended by about 40 people, including relatives of the defenders, volunteers and concerned citizens.
