More than two dozen beach areas for swimming and recreation have been officially opened in Odesa. All of them have been tested for safety in accordance with wartime requirements. Separate zones have also been opened in Chornomorsk and Prymorske in the Izmail district.

Information about this appeared on the website of the Odesa City Council.

According to the order of the Odesa Operational and Tactical Group and the Odesa Regional Military Administration, recreation is allowed on 26 beach areas. All of them have been inspected and meet sanitary requirements and wartime conditions.

All vacationers are urged to be careful: swim only in authorized areas, closely monitor children, respond to air raid alarms and immediately go to a shelter, do not touch suspicious objects and report them to the SES or police, and leave the beach in case of bad weather.

Last year, 2024, the beach season in Odesa region opened on June 8. There were 20 locations available for swimming, which were previously checked to ensure they met safety standards.

In 2023, the holiday season in Odesa region was opened only in August. The situation in the region was extremely tense, in particular, due to the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. It was extremely dangerous to swim in the sea at that time. But the local authorities still decided that people should have a rest on the seashore, so they allowed the velvet season. Only six beaches were officially opened in Odesa.
