The Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office has served a notice of suspicion to the head of a department at one of the city's clinical hospitals in Odesa.
According to the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, the woman is charged with extortion and receiving an unlawful benefit.
It should be noted that the 56-year-old is also the head of an expert team to assess the daily functioning of a person. According to the investigation, the head of the commission demanded and received an undue advantage from a man who had a real illness for assistance in passing the assessment and registration of a third-grade disability.
The head of the commission valued her services at USD 1.5 thousand, and when she received a part of the USD 500 in illegal funds, she was exposed and detained. During the searches at the official's place of residence, law enforcement agencies found and seized almost UAH 5 million in various currencies. At the request of the prosecutor's office, the court seized the seized funds.
According to the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine, the SBU and the National Police detained a total of four suspects in the organization of fraud in the country. In Volyn region, a truck driver was detained who is suspected of trying to smuggle a conscript in the cargo compartment of his car. Law enforcement officers detained the driver at a customs post while he was trying to smuggle a client in a specially equipped truck cache.
In the Khmelnytskyi region, two 18-year-old residents of Bukovyna suspected of organizing international trafficking of persons liable for military service abroad outside checkpoints were detained. According to the case file, the men used their own cars to transport reluctant conscripts from Kamianets-Podilskyi to Chernivtsi region, bypassing checkpoints. The clients were then escorted abroad along forest trails.
