Juvenile prosecutors of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent to court an indictment against a 28-year-old Russian citizen for militarizing Ukrainian children in the ranks of the Unarmia.

According to the Kherson regional prosecutor's office, in November 2022, a founding conference of the pro-Kremlin organization Yunarmiya was held in the temporarily occupied Henichesk. This is a children's and youth military-patriotic movement created at the initiative of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The organization is one of the main tools for militarization, mobilization and military training of young people in Russia.

During the event, with the support of the highest military and political leadership of the Russian Federation, a regional branch ofthe "Unarmy" was established in Kherson region. Its purpose was to form a positive attitude among young people towards service in the Russian army and to teach them the basics of military affairs.

"The occupation administration appointed a 28-year-old defendant to the position of the so-called 'chief', who at that time headed the 'public relations department' of the propaganda TV channel Tavria ," the statement said.

"The accused coordinated the activities of the pseudo-organization, established cooperation with illegal authorities, and involved local teenagers. During public events in educational institutions, he promoted service in the army of the aggressor country.

In addition, the accused repeatedly appeared in the materials of propaganda media. In one of the videos, he called the development of the "Unarmy" in the occupied territory "promising" and the Russian military "defenders". In another, he stated that the children involved in the movement are undergoing basic military training under the guidance of participants in the so-called "special operation" and will join the ranks of the Russian armed forces in the future.

On the fact of committing a war crime, as well as in glorification of persons who carry out armed aggression against Ukraine using the media.
