The Voznesensk District Prosecutor's Office has sent to court an indictment against a 54-year-old former acting director of a utility company of the South Ukrainian City Council.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The man is accused of misappropriation of another's property by abuse of office, committed on a large scale and under martial law, as well as forgery (Part 4 of Article 191, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that in 2022, the accused, acting on behalf of the company, entered into a contract for the supply of pipes worth more than UAH 700 thousand. However, despite this, the goods were not actually delivered. The official entered false information into the expense invoices, falsely confirming the alleged receipt of the pipes. As a result of his unlawful actions, the company suffered losses in the specified amount.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Voznesensk District Police Department. The indictment has now been submitted to court, and the former head of the utility company faces up to 8 years in prison for the offense.

Earlier, in Mykolaiv, possible corruption was exposed during the renovation of a high-rise building. The court ordered a second examination due to conflicting data on the cost of the work performed.

A judge in Mykolaiv has ordered a repeat construction and technical expertise in the criminal proceedings against the director of Budtechnologiya-MK. He is accused of misappropriation of budget funds and forgery.

According to the investigation, the company carried out major repairs to the roof of a multi-storey residential building in Mykolaiv under a contract concluded in December 2020 with the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the City Council. The total contract amount was over UAH 607 thousand.
