Mykolaiv region will receive part of more than 3,200 modern Oticon hearing aids that will help people with hearing impairments to live and study to the fullest. This is the second batch under a large-scale government program covering 11 regions of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

By the end of July, medical institutions in Mykolaiv region will receive a part of 3,260 modern Oticon hearing aids (Denmark) purchased at the expense of the state budget. This will enable people with hearing impairments to fully communicate, learn and integrate into society.

We are talking about six different models of hearing aids for adults and children with varying degrees of hearing loss:

For children

For adults:

The aid will be provided to medical institutions in 11 regions of Ukraine, including Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad, Rivne, Ternopil, Kherson, Khmelnytsky and Cherkasy.

This is the second batch of hearing aids procured by Medical Procurement of Ukraine at the request of the Ministry of Health under a three-year contract signed last year. The first batch of 4,293 devices was delivered in the fall of 2024 to 43 hospitals.

In total, almost 24.5 thousand hearing aids were purchased for a total of UAH 105.9 million. This is the first centralized public procurement of such devices. Hearing aids can be provided free of charge to children and adults with disabilities, as well as military personnel with hearing impairments who do not yet have official disability status.

Last year, the Government approved a plan to combat corruption in medical and social expert commissions, and the Ministry of Health prepared a bill to reform the system of health assessment and disability determination. As part of these changes, it was decided to reorganize the Mykolaiv MSEC and merge it with the regional clinical hospital.
