Odesa Pride 2026, a festival dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ+ community, human rights and equality, is taking place in Odesa from May 11-17. Throughout the week, discussions, forums, film screenings, educational meetings, and pride marches, including the QueerQuiz, have been organized for citizens and guests.

The Odesa Pride 2026 festival has started in Odesa, bringing together a series of events for the LGBTQ+ community and everyone who supports the ideas of equality, visibility and human rights protection. The events will last until May 17 inclusive.
The organizers note that the festival has become a platform for communication, education, and joint action. The program includes public discussions, forums, film screenings, cultural meetings, and thematic events, which are open to everyone after prior registration.
One of the first events of the festival was QueerQuiz at Unit Cafe, an interactive game dedicated to queer culture and the history of pride movements. Participants answered questions about the struggle for human rights, solved thematic puzzles, guessed famous songs, and discussed common myths.
According to the participants, the event was not only entertaining but also educational. Many admitted that they had learned new facts about queer culture and important historical events that they had hardly heard of before.
On May 14, the festival will host a meeting titled "Own Story: The Future of Queer Literature in Ukraine" to discuss the development of queer themes in contemporary Ukrainian literature.
On May 15-16, the Black Sea Queer Feminist Forum will take place, a Black Sea queer feminist forum dedicated to the themes of solidarity, visibility, and joint action.
The festival will end on May 17 with a pride march and events dedicated to the 36th anniversary of IDAHOT, the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. The organizers emphasize that the main goal of the events is to support the right of everyone to be themselves and freely express their identity.
Last year, with the support of the EU, Ukraine launched an initiative to improve the investigation of crimes against LGBTIQ+ people and war-related sexual violence.
The project will create recommendations for investigations, conduct trainings, and strengthen cooperation between law enforcement, civil society organizations, and international partners.
