Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Odesa Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region, an indictment was sent to court against the former commander of the Pryluky missile boat of the Ukrainian Navy for high treason and desertion.

According to the Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region, in May 2014, during the temporary occupation of the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by the Russian Federation, the 2nd rank captain, having betrayed his military oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people, refused to bring the Pryluky missile boat to the mainland territory of Ukraine and to perform military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, he signed a contract for military service in the Russian Armed Forces as the commander of the small missile boat Project 21631 Vyshny Volochok.

From February 2022 to the present day, the suspect has been actively involved in Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, launching missile strikes with Kalibr cruise missiles at civilian targets.

Earlier, law enforcement officers sent to court an indictment against the former commander of the combat unit of the navigator missile corvette"Prydniprovia" of the 1st Brigade of Surface Ships of the Ukrainian Navy on the facts of treason and desertion.

Also accused of high treason, defection to the enemy and desertion is former Major of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anatoliy Bilous. During the annexation of Crimea in 2014, he received an order from the command to relocate to the territory controlled by Ukraine, but refused to comply. Bilous remained in Crimea, voluntarily defected to the enemy and took a Russian passport. Denis Podobedov, a former Crimean soldier who betrayed his oath and went over to the enemy, and who has since led Russian air defense in the occupied peninsula and actively participated in Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for desertion and treason.
